What Is Denture?

A denture, also known as a removable denture, is an artificial tool that was built to replace lost teeth and is supported by soft and hard tissue around the oral cavity. There are many designs of dentures, some that depend on dental support, some are dependent on dental implants.

There are two categories of removable dentures, the first being full denture or full denture, and the second is Partial Denture. A full denture is used when all teeth are lost, while partial dentures are used when only a few teeth are lost.

What are the benefits obtained through denture or denture?

• The ability to masticate or chew increases because dentures replace the edentulous area or missing teeth.

What are the Denture Products of the BIA Dental Center?

1. Partial Denture, Acrylic Frame - This type of acrylic is the most common and oldest type with materials made of acrylic plates so this type is generally thick. In addition, acrylic uses wire that is attached to other teeth as support.

2. Partial Denture, Metal Frame - Metal skeletal type is almost the same as acrylic because both use wires that are applied to other teeth. The difference is this type is thinner because it is made of metal.

3. Valplast - Jenis Nylon Thermoplastic dengan bahan lebih tipis dan translucen dari pada gigi palsu jenis lainnya. Pasien biasanya lebih menyukai jenis valplast karena nyaman, bebas metal/logam dan bebas kawat.

4. Add 1 Tooth or more in Partial/ Full Denture - Dental treatment where if the patient already has dentures but in certain circumstances, it is required to add 1 or more teeth to the old denture.

5. Full Denture, Acrylic Teeth (Upper or Lower) - Full Denture consists of upper and lower sets and is mainly used when all-natural teeth are lost. Full dentures are removed and sit on the gums.

6. Immediate Denture - Immediate Denture is placed immediately after tooth extraction. Your dentist will make measurements and model your teeth first so that the dentures are ready for you to use when your jaw is recovered.

7. Implant-supported dentures (Overdenture) - With implant-supported dentures, dental implants are used to safely support dentures. Denture provides a lot of support for a solid foundation, which allows the denture to stay safely in place. Dental implants also look natural and will last a long time too.
